Arturo Cantu Elementary was presented with the distinguished “School of Excellence” award on September 28th for the 2017-2018 school year. The Leading EdTech company Imagine Learning representatives were on hand to make the presentation of awards. The students at Cantu Elementary worked hard all school year on the Imagine Math program, completing lessons and reaching individualized academic goals. The coveted award is presented to schools that demonstrate exceptional usage and implementation of the Imagine Math program.
"I have always been a firm believer In the Imagine Math program,” said LaQuanta Bivens-Hernandez, Mission CISD Elementary Math Coordinator. “Having used the program for many years as a classroom teacher and as a math coordinator, I have seen how it continues to evolve and improve in order to provide student focused intervention that works.”
According to Bivens-Hernandez, Imagine Math is a program that if used with fidelity along with consistent data monitoring, will not only fill in learning gaps, but will provide continuous opportunities for Improvement as it relates to student outcomes.
“We know from research that regular usage of Imagine Learning programs help students reach their learning potential,” expressed Lisa Wise, Motivational Manager at Imagine Learning. “We’re thrilled to acknowledge Arturo Cantu Elementary students for the work that they’ve done this year and for the growth that they’ve experienced.”
Customer Success Manager, Thelma Garza, presented Cantu Elementary their Imagine Learning School of Excellence Award at the assembly. The school received a banner to display for the upcoming school year noting their achievement.
In addition to Cantu Elementary being recognized with the School of Excellence award, the top three teachers and students with the most passed lessons were also recognized. The top three teachers are Maria Southerst (197), Stephanie Salvatore (168), and Rosemarie Underwood (165). The top three students are Mileen Hernandez (38), Erika Faz (26) and Alexa Rodriguez (24).
